A word from our team

Thank you again to those of you who joined us for our quarterly Hot Topic Workshop, Inclusive Support Provision, which was hosted as an online event on Tuesday, 11th November 2025.

The NGN VCMA team greatly appreciated the opportunity to see you all again. A special thank-you goes out to our guest speakers, John Hanna from Scope and Kate Bushen and Karen Wilshaw from Citizens Advice Sheffield, for their insightful presentations. It was great to see them showcasing the Inclusive Support Provision from both the client and service provider’s perspectives.

You said, we did recap

Looking back on the feedback we received from stakeholders during our last CIVS Hot Topic workshop (Tuesday, 9th September), the points below highlight what was captured on the day and what NGN have done to address these.

We Did
Partner Toolkit (website)
  • Separate access for the public and partners would be good
  • Would be good to have open sight of training opportunities
  • Partner information – would be good to know what level of support is offered
  • Can be difficult to get easy read materials – need to consider accessibility and inclusivity of resources
  • Calendar of events including partner events/key awareness days/weeks would help.
NGNs VCMA Comms Manager is developing a communications strategy and also updating the vulnerability content on the website with useful tools for partners.
The partner's toolkit is still in the design phase, and further updates will be provided at future stakeholder sessions.
An update on the partner toolkit will be provided at the next Partner Networking Call on 27th November.
  • Project Mapping Tool
  • Search function that could offer you a drop-down menu or the option to filter your search, e.g. region, debt advice, energy efficiency (visual map)
  • Each partner provides a narrative of who they are, services provided etc
  • Focus on wraparound support – holistic approach
  • Contact details of each organisation and a link to their website
  • More detail the better to avoid duplication.
Partners requested a mapping tool to demonstrate where partners are based / what their offering is.
The platform is currently being explored, and opportunities are being considered to develop further, including discussions with other GDNs regarding the potential for a national initiative. Such a platform would be trialled prior to launching.
Further updates will be provided at future stakeholder sessions.
