Purpose of the Supporting Communities Together Event
This event provided an opportunity to network face to face and to catch up on some of the Innovation projects and work that NGN have been progressing over the last year, to support customers in vulnerable situations.

This was the third event of this nature that has been held by NGN which provides our stakeholders a chance to meet up in person and learn about what else is going on within the business. We host this event annually in a different part of our network each year. Last year’s event was held in Newcastle and the previous year was in Leeds.
Throughout the day there was a lot of interaction with one another and a real “buzz” to the day.
The format of the day included, but was not limited to:
- Showcasing VCMA and Innovation projects including – National Energy Action (NEA), The Carents Room, One Number/Services Beyond the Meter, Vulnerability Visualisation/Mapping Tool (VVT)
- Stalls – including ones that demonstrate the services we offer to our colleagues, such as a Well Being Hub and iBenefit
- Stakeholder engagement / feedback - opportunity to gather informal feedback on a number of issues that stakeholders have highlighted to us, namely:-
- Digital Switchover
- Seldom Heard
- Winter Readiness
- Networking lunch
Three themes of the day:
Theme 1 Improving processes in service provision
Theme 2 Sharing resources and good practice
Theme 3 Fostering relationships
Throughout the day stakeholders interacted with one another and new relationships were established.
